Another Shakespearean oddity from the director who gave us the equally outlandish HAMLET in 1976. This time the text has been all but abandoned in favor of mime and song-and-dance numbers performed by the Lindsay Kemp stage company. The characters are truly absurd, wearing wild costumes
and bizarre makeup, and display a perverse sexual aura. This low-budget film, like the 1976 HAMLET, must be seen by Shakespeare lovers for the sake of comparison.
