A Lady Surrenders: Review

Lockwood plays a concert pianist dying from a weak heart who, wishing for one last fling, has an affair with ex-RAF pilot Granger, who for his part has a disease that is causing him to go blind. Neither allows the other to know of the malady each is suffering, until Lockwood finds out through Granger's fiancee, Roc, that Roc has talked him into turning down a dangerous operation that has little chance of success. Roc tells Lockwood that she will leave the pilot if he has the operation. He has the surgery and it succeeds, so Roc goes through with her threat, leaving Lockwood and Granger free to fall in love. Competent performances are marred by uneven direction, but the film offers some nice scenic photography of the English coast. leave a comment
