Hudson plays a post-war SAC commander in this undistinguished air force film. He's a hard-driven leader, demanding perfection from his men, and not devoting enough time to his British bride, Peach. Because of the tensions of his job and his inability to give his wife the affection she
deserves, a conflict builds inside him. This is a tired plot line, used in many air defense films. About the best thing going for this tired production is "The SAC Song," written by the satirical and witty Tom Lehrer. The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Effects.
