A Foreign City

Arestrup, an Austrian diplomat in Paris, awakes one morning, after a strange dream about murder, to find himself suddenly and completely detached from his whole world. As he tries to deal with his odd empty feelings, he goes through the motions of his daily life, engaging in steadily more bizarre and illogical behavior. Based on Peter Handke's novel Moment of True Feeling, FOREIGN CITY tries and fails to operate at the same intellectual level as the book.
