An offbeat attempt to document the view of poet Connery, who is frustrated in his attempts to compose a masterpiece. He dislikes women, being considerate only to his second wife, Woodward. Late alimony payments contribute to woes resulting in a nervous breakdown. He tries to get help,
but ends up with a lobotomy. Director Kershner demonstrates fine visual talents in his use of New York locations.
