Austrian Princess Loren, living in exile in the United States, falls for mining engineer Gavin. She then is summoned to Vienna and told that a marriage has been arranged for her with Hintermann, Prince of Prussia. Jealous rival Lansbury attempts to prove Loren unworthy of Hintermann by
exposing her lust for Gavin. As luck and the plot has it, Lansbury elopes with Gavin and Loren marries the prince. The normally delightful Chevalier is spiritless here, perhaps underwhelmed by the silliness of the script. The other performers follow suit and only the costuming and music are
worthwhile is this weak effort.
