Adam Brody, Marley Shelton

Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen have joined the cast of Scream 4, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The trio joins original cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, and fellow newbies Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Nico Tortorella.

Brody (The O.C.) will play a rookie cop who grew up with the CSI franchise. Shelton (A Perfect Getaway) will portray a deputy who knew Campbell's Sidney Prescott in high school, while Knudsen (Jericho) will provide the comic relief and horror movie tidbits, much like Jamie Kennedy's character did in the first two installments.

Scream 4 set for 2011 release

Scream 4 is written by Kevin Williamson and will be directed by Wes Craven. Shooting begins this week in Michigan.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters April 15, 2011.
