Saw 3D Tops Halloween Weekend Box Office

Spooky films Saw 3D and Paranormal Activity 2 took the top spots at the box office over Halloween weekend.

The premiere of the Saw franchise's seventh installment took in $22.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports, while the Paranormal sequel finished second, bringing in $16.5 million in its second weekend. Its two-week take totals $66.6 million.

Paranormal Activity 2 debuts at top of box office

Three movies in their third week of release took the next three spots. The action flick Red, starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren, came in third with $10.8 million, followed by Jackass 3D with $8.4 million. Clint Eastwood's Hereafter, starring Matt Damon and Bryce Dallas Howard, took the No. 5 spot, bringing in $6.3 million.

Rounding out the top 10: Secretariat  (No. 6, $5 million); The Social Network (No. 7, $4.7 million),  Life As We Know It (No. 8, $4 million); The Town (No. 9, $1.9 million) and Conviction (No. 10, $1.8 million).
