Is Robin Williams Heading for the next Batman?

Robin Williams

Robin Williams may be trading in his Patch Adams nose for a cell in Arkham Asylum.

The 58-year-old Oscar-winning actor has expressed interest in joining the cast of Batman 3, even if that means he has to play Lunatic #3.

Next Batman film slated for July 2012 release

"I'd play The Riddler in the next Batman, although it would be hard to top Heath [Ledger] as the villain, and I'm a little hairy for tights," Robin Williams says in the July issue of Empire magazine. "I'm using this article as an ad. Chris [Nolan], call me, I'll do anything. I could be a great character — or some weird little man in the background in Arkham Asylum."

Williams worked with Nolan on the 2003 thriller Insomnia. Nolan, who directed both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, will also be at the helm of the third installment of the new Batman films.

Calls to Williams' and Nolan's reps were not immediately returned.

Would Robin Williams be good in the next Batman film?
