Max Payne Outguns W. at Box Office

Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis
George W. Bush is no match for Max Payne.
The Mark Wahlberg action flick, based on a video game, easily shot to the top spot at the box office, opening with $18 million, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Oliver Stone's W., on the other hand, finished fourth with a respectable $10.6 million, on par with expectations. Guess a Bush biopic doesn’t really draw the crowds.
Sandwiched in between were Beverly Hills Chihuahua, demoted to No. 2 after two weeks at the top with $11.2 million for a total of $69.1 million, and book-to-film The Secret Life of Bees, opening right behind Chihuahua in third with $11.1 million.
The weekend's other big release didn't fare as well. Raunchy Sex Drive stuttered into ninth with $3.6 million.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe's political drama Body of Lies, which underwhelmed with a third-place debut last week, dipped to sixth with $6.9 million (total $24.5 million) and was bested by Shia LaBeouf's month-old Eagle Eye ($7.3 million).
Rounding out the top ten were Quarantine (No. 7, $6.3 million), Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (No. 8, $3.9 million) and Nights in Rodanthe (No. 10, $2.7 million).
