Marley & Me Leads Box Office Pack Again

Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, Marley & Me

With no new wide releases to go up against, Marley & Me notched its second straight week atop the box office with $24.1 million.

The intake has now pushed the Jennifer Aniston-Owen Wilson doggy drama past the $100 million milestone for a $105.6 million total.

The rest of the top 10 nearly mimicked the previous week's. Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories placed second with $20.3 million, while Aniston's ex Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button came in third again with $18.4 million.

Tom Cruise's World War II thriller Valkyrie raked in $14 million to edge Jim Carrey's Yes Man ($13.9 million) for fourth. Seven Pounds ($10 million) and The Tale of Despereaux ($7 million) also held steady for the sixth and seventh spots.

Opening in limited release were two Nazi dramas. Daniel Craig's Defiance opened with $121,000 in two theaters, while Good, starring Viggo Mortensen, debuted with $9,300 in two theaters.

Rounding out the top 10 were Doubt (No. 8, $5 million), The Day the Earth Stood Still (No. 9, $4.9 million) and Slumdog Millionaire (No. 10, $4.8 million).
