MacGyver Getting Rebuilt for Big Screen

MacGyver

Does MacGyver have all the right parts for a big-screen hit? New Line seems to think so.

The resourceful secret agent who favored brains over brawn is about to become a leading man in a movie adaptation of the classic ABC adventure series, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Raffaella De Laurentiis, daughter of Dino De Laurentiis, is producing alongside Martha De Laurentiis and original series creator Lee Zlotoff. The trio is currently in search of a writer to revive the franchise. After the show was canceled, Richard Dean Anderson starred in two TV movies.

"We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise," said New Line's Richard Brener.

Anderson is not attached to the project. But would he even have time with MacGruber and all?
