Lindsay Lohan has found a job.
The actress, who last month blamed the paparazzi for her lack of work, has joined the independent film The Other Side, according to Variety.
She will play a grad student working at a scientific institute on a remote island when she befriends a group of eccentric locals harboring a dark secret. Described as a fantasy-comedy, The Other Side also stars Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews, and Alanis Morissette.
The role marks Lohan's first big-screen gig since her 2007 flop I Know Who Killed Me, which opened following her dual DUI arrests. She shot the film Labor Pains last year, but it's been demoted to a small-screen debut on ABC Family in July.
"Lindsay's very aware of people's perceptions of her," director David Michaels tells Variety. "She's really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that."
Lohan is expected to be insured by the time production starts in October at an island off the coast of Massachusetts.
