Twilight star Kristen Stewart has another juicy role to sink her teeth into for the big screen.
The actress has signed on to portray rock 'n' roll-loving Joan Jett in a new biopic, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
The Runaways will chronicle the rise to fame of Jett's 1970s all-girl punk band that supplied such hits as "Cherry Bomb" before splitting over management and money squabbles. No word yet on who will play bandmates Lita Ford, Sandy West, Cherie Currie and Jackie Fox.
Jett will executive produce the flick.
And don't worry, Twilight fang-atics — the film won't have any effect on the production of sequel New Moon, which starts shooting early next year. The Runaways will work around Stewart's Twilight commitments.
What do you think of this casting choice? Does Stewart have the chops to lead The Runaways?
