All-Knowing Nicolas Cage Tops Box Office

Knowing

Nicolas Cage scared off Julia Roberts and a bro-mantic duo as his disaster action flick, Knowing, emerged victorious at the weekend box office, snatching up $24.8 million.

The weekend's other two big releases, I Love You, Man, and Duplicity, Roberts' leading-lady comeback, followed in second and third, with $18 million and $14.4 million, respectively.

The newbies on top of the leader board forced last week's champ, Race to Witch Mountain, to drop to fourth with $13 million. Watchmen also fell three spots to fifth with $6.7 million. The film is now $2 million short of the $100 benchmark.

Rounding out the top 10 were: The Last House on the Left (No. 6, $5.9 million), Taken (No. 7, $4.1 million), Slumdog Millionaire (No. 8, $2.7 million), Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail (No. 9, $2.5 million) and Coraline (No. 10, $2.1 million).
