Kelly Preston Returns to Work Following Son's Death

Kelly Preston has signed on for her first project since the January death of her son.
Preston will play Miley Cyrus' mom in Disney's The Last Song, according to the Associated Press. The film started production this week in Savannah, Ga., and revolves around Cyrus' rebellious teen who must spend a summer with her estranged father, played by Greg Kinnear.
Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, with husband John Travolta died Jan. 2 from a seizure while on a family vacation in the Bahamas. Travolta skipped publicity for his latest film, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, and thanked his co-stars for allowing his family "additional time to reconcile our loss."
Preston and Travolta can next be seen in November's Old Dogs with their 9-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu.
