Oh, Mother! Ellen DeGeneres Lands All-Powerful Movie Role

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres is not a mom in real life yet, but she'll soon be Mother Nature on the big screen.

The dance-crazed talk-show host will play the role in an as-yet-untitled comedy written by Sex and the City writer/executive producer, Jenny Bicks, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the project, to be produced by Walden Media, Ellen's all-mighty character will journey to Earth for the first time since the planet's creation. Needless to say, she won't like all that she sees.

"I'm going to be playing Mother Nature I'm doing a movie very exciting. It will be fun. In Finding Nemo I played a fish but it was just a voice. It was an animated film and now this is live action," DeGeneres said on her Wednesday show. "I'm actually going to be playing Mother Nature and I get to control the weather and save the earth and that's like the ultimate super hero and I'm hoping I get to wear a cap. It will be fun. So I'll let you know when were filming it [and] keep you updated on the show."

This will be DeGeneres' first film since voicing Dory in 2003's Finding Nemo.
