Brad Pitt Heads to Cannes for Inglourious Basterds

Brad Pitt

Last year, Brad Pitt attended Cannes to support wife Angelina Jolie's films, but this May, the actor hopes to win for his new Quentin Tarantino-directed film, Inglourious Basterds.

The World War II movie was invited to compete in the film festival, and will also be ready for its world premiere, Variety reported.

The film follows a band of Jewish-American soldiers trying to take down a group of Nazis and will premiere Aug. 21.

Pitt, a regular at the festival, attended last year alongside Jolie as she debuted Changeling and Kung Fu Panda.

This year's festival will take place May 13-24, and its line-up will be announced April 23.
