Amy Poehler is a lady who lunches — or rather, serves lunches.
The actress has signed on to star in Universal's Lunch Lady, an adaptation of Jarrett Krosoczka's upcoming children's graphic novel series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series revolves around a mild-mannered cafeteria server who secretly investigates wrongdoing. Meanwhile, three children try to figure out her double life.
The first two books, Lunch Lady and the League of Librarians and Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute, are due this summer. The third, Lunch Lady and the Author Visit Vendetta, will hit shelves in December, while the fourth, Lunch Lady and the Summer Camp Shakedown, is set for a summer 2010 release.
No word yet on when production begins, but maybe Poehler can study this in the meantime.
