When Pidgeon, a fighting prosecuting attorney, is framed for a crime, he's tossed into prison and immediately pegged by some of the men he sent there himself. After taking a severe beating in a prison boxing match, he is accepted by the inmates as one of their own and they let him in on their escape plans.
