After legally winning $150,000 in a sweepstakes, gangster Fowley has problems collecting his prize. Seems the law wants him, which makes his winnings a little difficult to pick up. Donlevy is the G-man after the gangster and Stuart is a journalist who falls in love with him during the
course of the action. Some swift direction and clever dialog make this an interesting and funny outing. But the scenes involving Fetchit have lost what little humor they had to start with, playing as typical Hollywood racism today.
