Romero plays a suave and unscrupulous jewel thief; Trevor is an insurance detective who joins his gang when she goes undercover to bust up his operations. Romero stages a fake holdup and murder so he can test Trevor's honor among thieves and also calls in some fake police to see if Trevor will squeal.
