Val Kilmer, Ryan Phillippe
After taking over the Super Bowl, Saturday Night Live's favorite inept spy, MacGruber, is ready to explode onto the silver screen — perhaps with a former Caped Crusader in tow.
Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe are in negotiations to star in the film, co-written by MacGruber himself, SNL star Will Forte, who will reprise his role, according to the Hollywood Reporter. SNL's Kristen Wiig will also join as his always imperiled assistant.

Seth Rogen and James Franco
What would appear to be one prerequisite for scoring a membership in the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences? Working with Judd Apatow.
Frequent Apatow collaborators Seth Rogen, James Franco, Michael Cera, Paul Rudd and Jane Lynch are among the 134 industry names invited to join the elite Hollywood club this year. As members, they would enjoy voting privileges for all future Oscar ceremonies. (Apatow himself was invited to join AMPAS last year.)

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen
Some moviegoers believe two of the new robots in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are more than meets the eye.
Skids and Mudflap, a pair of robot twins meant to provide comic relief, are being called racial caricatures, according to the Associated Press. The pair, which constantly bicker using street slang, admit they cannot read, and one of them has a gold tooth.

The new characters have already drawn comparison to Jar Jar Binks, the broken-English-speaking alien from Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace that many fans labeled as a stereotype. But director Michael Bay insists jive-talking twin robots were only meant for laughs.
"It's done in fun," he said. "I don't know ...

Oscar
The Hangover, Best Picture nominee? Perhaps.
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday it is doubling the number of Best Picture nominees — from five to 10.
"Having 10 Best Picture nominees is going allow Academy voters to recognize and include some of the fantastic movies that often show up in the other Oscar categories but have been squeezed out of the race for the top prize," AMPAS President Sid Ganis said in a press conference. "I can't wait ...

Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in and produce the big-screen drama Life As We Know It — but Grey's Anatomy fans needn't worry about this new gig impacting Heigl's recently confirmed return to the ABC series.
